60 % of families have access to Internet in Tatarstan

Currently about 60 % of Tatarstan families have wideband access to Internet. More than 905 000 subscribers (63,5 % of which are physical parties) use technologies xDsl, Ethernet, Wi-Fi and WiMax. At the end of 2010 the number was 779 000.
Number of people using mobile Internet with GPRS/EDGE/3G also increased to 1 175 303.
Volume of Internet traffic consumed via data-transmission networks of telecoms operators in RT made 7 terabytes. 31 % of traffic go to Kazan, 15 % - to Naberezhnye Chelny.
Total installed capacity of wideband Internet access nodes at networks of telecoms operators from the beginning of year has increased from 809 000 to 840 000 ports.

On December 29, the weekly meeting of the digital industry of Tatarstan discusses the key achievements of the republic in the IT sector for 2025:
• Gross industry revenue—269 billion roubles (forecast, +35% year-on-year);
On December 22, at the final meeting of Interdepartmental working group No. 15 for the implementation of the national project "Data Economy and Digital Transformation of the State", Tatarstan Minister of Digitalization Ilya Nachvin welcomed the participants and summed up the work of the group for 2025 and presented impressive indicators for the development of the digital economy of Tatarstan.
At a weekly meeting, communication industry companies, subordinate organizations and heads of departments of Tatarstan Ministry of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communications discussed key achievements in the communication industry and digital development in 2025.
On December 11, Moscow hosted this year's important IT events: the awards ceremony for the winners of the "Sprint to the Future - Code of Success!" award and the Sprint 2.0 Accelerator Demo Day.
