New city Innopolis to open in Russia

The official opening ceremony of Innopolis, the first Russian city built in 21st century, will be held on June 9, 2015.
Innopolis is located 40 km away from Kazan. Its economy is based on high technology sectors and its key mission is to give highly skilled IT specialists to reveal their potential in Russia by creating domestic products and services.
A unique eco system with modern residential infrastructure, nature, ecology, and safe environment has been created there.
Russian Minister of Communications and Mass Media Nikolay Nikiforov, Russian Minister of Education and Science Dmitry Livanov, Tatarstan Minister of Information and Communications Roman Shaikhutdinov, Mayor of Innopolis E.A.Ivanov, and Chairman of Russian Government Dmitry Medvedev will take part in the event.
Students at Gymnasium No. 75 in Kazan took part in an educational session under the "Digital Literacy" project, focusing on topics such as "Pet Protection in the Digital World" and "Harmful tips on Digital Security", which is implemented in support of the national project “Data Economy”.
Tatarstan residents have increased their phone communication by one-third. According to MegaFon, in March 2025, the average person talked on the phone for 4 hours and 49 minutes per month. This year, the average call time has risen to 6 hours and 20 minutes.
