“Smart City – Nizhnekamsk” situational centre opened in Nizhnekamsk

19 March 2026, Thursday

On March 19, the solemn opening of the situational center “Smart City – Nizhnekamsk” with participation of Tatarstan Minister of Digitalization Ilya Nachvin, People’s Deputy of the State Duma Aydar Metshin and Head of Nizhnekamsk region Radmir Belyaev took place.

The opening of the situational centre became a key event in the development of the region. “Smart City – Nizhnekamsk” is a unified “brain” centre that receives real-time data from video cameras, intercoms and the “Digital Nizhnekamsk” platform.

The center is a structural division of the Information Center of Nizhnekamsk city.

The situational center integrates key spheres of life: social services, healthcare, economy, education, culture, housing policy and public transportation. It also collects information about shelters, local residents’ requests and investment projects. Data is displayed on interactive screens, enabling city officials to make prompt decisions. Based on the “Digital Nizhnekamsk” monitoring system, the Information Center created a bot that sends daily reports on key indicators to the city leadership.

The center’s work will become especially important under modern conditions.

“First and foremost, the situational center will help ensure the safety of our citizens and enable timely management decisions,” Nachvin said.

At the opening, the following projects were also presented:

“My Nizhnekamsk” app for residents.
The project was developed by the IT Park in Kazan, the company “Etton,” together with the Nizhnekamsk Information Centre. Currently, internal testing of the application’s first stage is underway among staff. After that, the service is planned for wide daily use by Nizhnekamsk residents.
The app will unify all city services on one platform and allow residents to learn about events, contact local government bodies and use many other convenient functions. The platform is aimed at implementing tourist route planning according to weather conditions and the type of recreation. Residents will also be able to earn virtual achievements for attending cultural events and engaging in sports.

“Housing Standard” platform.
This service unites all utility companies, management companies, solid waste handling operators and internet providers. The platform enables residents’ issues to be addressed around the clock. The service includes a feedback platform and a call center, which receives over 10,000 calls monthly.

Development of the Yandex GO service.
At the end of 2025, the executive committee of Nizhnekamsk region signed a cooperation agreement with Yandex. Due to this service, a modern digital display was installed in Nizhnekamsk, showing in real time transport arrival times, temperature, date, time and emergency notifications. The unique Yandex tag allows for geolocation even under radio-electronic interference conditions. The city plans to implement online fare payment and other innovative projects aimed at digitalizing transport.
