21 January 2026, Wednesday

Deputy Minister of Digitalization of Tatarstan Albert Yakovlev presented the latest statistics on digital security:

Self-restraint – simple protection against credit traps. Since March 1, 2025, more than 559,000 residents of Tatarstan have set up a "self- restraint" to obtain loans through the State Services Portal.

Since September 1, 2025, it has been possible to set a self- restraint to sign a contract with a telecom operator. 8,371 residents of the republic have already used this feature to prevent SIM cards from being illegally issued in their name.

To improve security for accessing the State Services Portal, enhanced authentication has been implemented via the MAX messenger. When an incoming call is received, the name of the organization or the type of service is displayed, making it easy to distinguish legitimate calls from spam.

"In 2025, Tatarstan will implement five key initiatives to combat digital fraud: the Antifraud system, the self-prohibition on loans, the SIM card verification service through the State Services Portal, child protection and improving digital literacy," Deputy Minister of Digitalization of Tatarstan Albert Yakovlev said.
