Modern and convenient post offices are an important part of the republic's social infrastructure.
Currently, Tatarstan has 1,112 post offices, 852 of which are in rural areas. Network upgrades, particularly in rural areas, allow residents to access a wider range of services in more comfortable conditions.
"We plan to renovate another 100 post offices in 2026. For small villages, the post office is sometimes the only accessible place to receive services, parcels and essential goods. The post office connects the village with the city and the outside world. This applies not only to mailings and digital services, but also to basic accessibility, especially for the elderly and those who cannot travel regularly," Tatarstan Minister of Digitalization of Tatarstan Ilya Nachvin explains.
From 2022 to 2025, 88 rural post offices were modernized under the federal programme with fund amounting to 449.3 million roubles.
Last year, 30 offices were renovated: 15 funded by the Tatarstan budget and 15 by the federal budget. By comparison, 26 offices were renovated in 2024.
