Results of 2024 in the economy of the IT industry of Tatarstan: report of Tatarstan Ministry of Digitalization
Digital transformation is becoming one of the key factors in the economic growth of Tatarstan.
In 2024, Tatarstan Ministry of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communications recorded a significant increase in key economic indicators, that became possible, among other things, due to the support of the national project "Digital Transformation of the State".
Total revenue
The industry's revenue in 2024 reaches 225 billion roubles (forecast value), which is almost 3 times more than in 2019. This result became possible due to the successful implementation of a number of projects, including the sale of domestic software, the production of computer equipment, ensuring information security and digitalization.
Growth in the number of IT companies
As of today, there are 3,501 IT companies registered in Tatarstan. In 1014, 153 companies were added, which indicates the dynamic development of the sector. The share of IT companies among all organisations in the republic has also increased, confirming the interest of business in innovation and digital technologies.
Accreditation and startups
Special attention is paid to supporting young innovative enterprises. Thus, in 2024, 612 IT companies were included in the federal register of accredited organizations, and 110 companies were included in the register of startups.
Individual entrepreneurs
The number of individual entrepreneurs in the IT sector has increased to almost 4,000 people, which is 3.4% of the total number of individual entrepreneurs in the republic.
Tax revenues
The growth of activity in the IT sector has also had a positive impact on the level of tax revenues. In 2024, they grew by 43%, amounting to 33 billion roubles. This figure emphasizes the contribution of the IT industry to the regional budget and its importance for the overall economy.
Personnel and wages
As of the end of 2024, more than 40,000 people are employed in the IT sector, which is over 3% of the total working population of Tatarstan. The average salary of industry specialists reached 114,000 roubles, which is an important indicator of the attractiveness of work in this area.
Tatarstan Minister of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communications Ayrat Khayrullin emphasized: "We are confidently moving forward, creating favorable conditions for the further development of the IT industry in Tatarstan." These words reflect the willingness to continue the course towards digitalization and technological development of the region. Thus, the results of 2024 show that Tatarstan is actively developing its IT infrastructure, creating new opportunities for business and improving the quality of life of its residents.
