Regional competitions in phygital sports starts in the Saby region
On September 30, Tatarstan Minister of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communications Ayrat Khayrullin and Head of the Saby municipal region, Chairman of the Council of Saby region Rais Minnikhanov took part in the solemn opening of the competition «Phygital Saba» - the first games launching the series of municipal tournaments.
“The area of phygital sports is becoming increasingly popular. The «Phygital Saba» project is an innovative form of competition combining physical activity and the use of virtual reality. We plan to hold competitions in other municipal regions of the republic», Khayrullin said. «Phygital Saba» is a regional project aimed at developing and popularizing phygital sports in Tatarstan among schoolchildren and students, implemented by the Ministry of Digitalization of the republic together with the Phygital Sports Federation of Tatarstan, CyberPark Arena, and IT Park. During 2 days, 160 students competed in 4 disciplines, consisting of physical and digital parts. Phygital competition will continue in other municipalities of Tatarstan, thus allowing to identify the strongest athletes in order to prepare them for the competition of a higher level, including the «Games of the Future» to be held in Kazan in 2024.
