“Citizen’s ID-card” project starts in Tatarstan

On June 17, on the sidelines of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and CEO of the National Payment Card System Vladimir Komlev signed an Agreement on the implementation of “Tatarstan citizen’s ID-card” at the Mir payment system.

The joint project will allow introducing innovative mechanisms for providing social support measures in the republic and will contribute to the development of tourism, culture and sports.

The ID-card will combine a number of socially significant services, including a public transport pass, compulsory medical insurance policy, personal insurance policy number (SNILS) and others.

The first cards will be issued by the end of 2022.
