The Russian IT industry to make a "tax maneuver"

25 June 2020, Thursday

The sphere of high technology awaits a special «tax maneuver» - a two-fold reduction of insurance premium rate and a reduction of the profit tax rate for IT companies. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced new measures to support the IT industry.

Thus, the premium rate will be 7.6 per cent instead of 14 per cent. In addition, income taxes will be reduced significantly from 20 per cent to 3 per cent, which will become one of the lowest tax rates in the world. It is noted that these support measures will be unlimited.

Russian President met representatives of the IT sector and telecommunications to discuss approaches and solutions aimed at developing the area of information technology.

Tatarstan also took part in the development of support measures. Proposals prepared by regional specialists together with IT companies and telecom operators were sent to Russian Government.

It is expected that the announced “tax maneuver” will increase the competitiveness and sustainability of domestic IT companies.
