Digital Breakthrough launches free educational IT marathon for girls
Digital Breakthrough All-Russian contest, one of the projects of the presidential platform “Russia - the Country of Opportunities”, is launching a free educational online marathon for girls who dream of starting a career in the IT area.
The new project is aimed at bridging the existing gender gap in IT technologies and reduce the staffing requirements in the digital economy.
“Girls took an active part in the first season of the Digital Breakthrough, but the gender distribution was very far from balance. Participants, and especially teams with female staff, were considerably less than male participants. To expand the audience and help girls express themselves, we are launching an online marathon,” Director General of Russia - Country of Opportunities non-profit organization Alexey Komissarov said. The online training will consist of four parts devoted to key areas of career development in the area of information technology:
• IT project management;
• Design of digital products;
• Mobile development on Flutter;
• Internet Marketing.
The educational block of the marathon contains eight classes that will help participants to get acquainted and evaluate the key IT professions. Participants will be able to understand the process of developing an IT product, learn about the most relevant methods of project and product management, try their hand at design, get acquinted with new technologies and programming, and be inspired by successful examples of representatives of the IT sphere.
