Roman Shaikhutdinov: “Special economic zone is only one sixth of Innopolis. We are building a new city”

The Tatarstan Vice-premier and Minister of informatization and communications Roman Shaikhutdinov participated in on-line conference of the electronic newspaper Business on-line.
He told about realisation of the main IT project in the Republic of Tatarstan – Innopolis, and plans on electronic services development in republic.
According to Roman Shaikhutdinov, Innopolis is a territorially detached IT center. It is the city for IT specialists with average per capita income twice as much as of other Russian citizens.
“We have several goals to realise. The first one is to bring together the highly intellectual society. Another important component of the innovative city is education.
The status of special economic zone will also make sense. “We already have one special economic zone in republic. This successfully implemented project enabled getting the permission for constructing another special economic zone of technical innovation type,” the Minister said.
On December 11, Moscow hosted this year's important IT events: the awards ceremony for the winners of the "Sprint to the Future - Code of Success!" award and the Sprint 2.0 Accelerator Demo Day.
In accordance with the Procedure for providing subsidies from the budget of Tatarstan in 2025 to telecom operators to reimburse costs associated with providing mobile radiotelephone services on sections of the M-12 and M-7 highways located in Tatarstan, approved by Resolution No. 1032 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Tatarstan dated 02.12.2025 (hereinafter referred to as the Procedure) and Order No. p/334 of Tatarstan Ministry of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communications dated 10.12.2025, the deadlines for submitting applications for subsidies from the budget of the republic have been established.
Digital Transformation Centre of Tatarstan reported that in 2025, Tatarstan completed a digital infrastructure upgrade, which affected server capacity, government employee workplaces, email services and video surveillance.
