Innopolis presented at the exhibition Telecom World 2012 in Dubai

The exhibition & forum Telecom World 2012 is a big international event in ICT industry organised by the International Telecommunication Union. It is held at Dubai international exhibition & congress center on October 14-18.

6500 people are participating in the event. Among them are heads of states and governments, employees of ministries and agencies, regional leaders, officials of major telecommunication companies and experts.

Ministry of Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation organises the exposition “Russia” that demonstrates advanced scientific achievements of domestic companies in IT industry.

Presentation of the film about territorially detached innovation center Innopolis is included in the exposition.

Innopolis is a project of the territorially detached innovation center in Tatarstan that is aimed at providing new growth point for the Russian economy and increasing the share of ICT sector in Russia’s gross domestic product by means of testing latest results of global achievements in the sphere of city management (including Smart City concept) and their further nationwide application.

To the point, construction of Innopolis started in June 2012 in Tatarstan. The city will occupy the area of 1200 hectares in a picturesque place not far from Kazan. It is meant for 155 thousand people including 60 thousand IT specialists. Master plan of Innopolis was developed by RSP Architects Planners&Engineers (Singapore).

On September 4, 2012 the Tatarstan Government and iCarnegie, a subsidiary of Carnegie Mellon University, signed Memorandum of mutual understanding.

Carnegie Mellon will develop the internationally recognized educational system comprised of scientific & research university, specialized schools for general education, and a wide range of opportunities for additional professional education and training of chief executives.
