Kazan wins the right to host International Olympiad in Informatics in 2016

Kazan has won the right to host the International Olympiad in Informatics in 2016, CEO of the State Unitary Enterprise “Center of information technologies of the Republic of Tatarstan” Tatyana Kamaletdinova informed.
He said that Kazan will be the first Russian city to host the International Olympiad in Informatics.
The Tatarstan delegation comprised of Deputy Minister of education and science Andrei Pominov, Chief of the Department for information technologies development Nadezhda Sulimova presented the Kazan bid within the framework of XXIV International Olympiad in Informatics in Lombardy (Italy).
Besides Kazan, Japanese and Azerbaijan cities fought for the right to host the Olympiad in 2016, but the International Olympic Committee approved our bid.
The prestigious competitions of future “Bill Gates” is meant to be held in July 2016. Participants will be accommodated at the Universiade Village, the competition will be held at the Kazan IT-park. However, in case a major Innopolis project will have been realized by that time, the event is likely to be held there.
The International Competence Centre – the Kazan Technical College of Information Technologies and Communications invites graduates, their parents and all interested individuals to the Open Day event.

The Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov approved the decision of Tatarstan government to allocate 55.3 million roubles from the regional budget to support 2,300 employees of rural postal offices in 2026.
A new practice tool for preparing for the USE has been launched on the State Services Portal (Gosuslugi)l. It allows students to reinforce their knowledge and practice solving typical exam tasks.
Since September 2024, Tatarstan residents could receive rewards through the "People’s Inspector" app for reporting traffic violations. During this period, over 12,000 reports were submitted across seven paid categories, earning citizens a total of 5.6 million roubles. The top earner was a resident of the republic who submitted 226 reports and received 275,000 roubles. The second-highest earner earned 260,800 roubles for 209 reports.
