The readiness of the telecommunications infrastructure of WorldSkills Kazan 2019 discussed at Tatarstan Ministry of Informatization and Communication

On June 24, Tatarstan Minister of Informatization and Communication Airat Khairullin held a meeting with the enterprises of the industry on ensuring high-quality telecommunication infrastructure at WorldSkills Kazan 2019, to be held in Kazan at the end of August.

A total of 1600 contestants in 56 competencies plan to compete in the competition, over 1,500 experts, 3,500 volunteers and 1,000 media representatives will be involved.

As many as four operators such as Tattelecom, Rostelecom, MTS and Vimpelcom have optical communication lines at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre. Wi-Fi network coverage is provided by 280 access points. The base station of TETRA network, which was already tested during the national championship in May, was also put into operation.

The opening and closing ceremonies of the championship will take place at the Kazan Arena stadium, where a Wi-Fi network of 124 access points will operate. As many as 78 more points will be established in the near future. The quality of communication in the WorldSkills Village, where participants of the competition will be accommodated is of great importance. The Wi-Fi network here consists of 465 existing points, established before the Universiade 2013. Additionally, it is planned to install 40 access points in the student campus.
