Tatarstan to fully adopt the digital broadcasting in October

28 May 2019, Tuesday

The transition to digital broadcasting in Tatarstan and in 20 more regions of the Russian Federation was postponed from June 3 to October 14.

It was originally intended that the third stage of digitalization, in June, will take place in 57 regions and will be the last. However, the Russian Government postponed the transition to a “digit” for 21 entities of the Russian Federation on October 14. Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov appealed the Russian Government to include Tatarstan in this list.

The postponement is connected with the holding of the Muslim holiday Uraza-Bayram in Tatarstan on June 4. The schedule has been changed to take into account the interests of the population and not cause them considerable inconvenience. At the same time, Russian Ministry of the Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media assesses the readiness of Tatarstan to adopt the digital broadcasting as high.

Tatarstan is actively working with the population, preparing the transition to digital broadcasting.

Over 1,800 volunteers have been recruited and trained to assist residents in setting up digital on-air television broadcasting equipment in municipalities of the republic.

There is a federal hotline 8-800-220-20-02 in the region.
