There are over 4.3 million Internet subscribers in Tatarstan
The number of Internet subscribers has increased by 1.7 times in Tatarstan over the last five years. There are over 4.3 million of them for today. The penetration rate of fixed high-speed access to the World Wide Web has significantly increased from 70 per cent to 76 per cent since 2012.
However, the mobile Internet becomes more popular among the citizens. The number of its users has exceeded 3.3 million in Tatarstan, that is three times higher than the number of fixed broadband access subscribers. Since 2012, The demand for mobile Internet has almost doubled in the country since 2012, which indicates the availability of tariffs and the improvement of its cell phone coverage, as well as the sufficiency of Internet access speeds comparable to fixed access.
