The Interregional Centre of Competencies - the Kazan Technical College of Information Technology and Communications hosted the final of the first IT Essentials Interregional Olympiad on information technology among schoolchildren, organized by Tatarstan Ministry of Informatization and Communication, Ministry of Education and Science of the republic together with Cisco Network Academy.

On March 15, the second training courses for volunteers on installation and configuration user equipment for receiving digital television were held in Kazan. As many as 70 people, mostly students of secondary vocational schools attended the courses. In total about 50 volunteers will help people to connect digital television in Kazan.

Digital set-top boxes went on sale in rural post offices of Tatarstan. Now residents of remote settlements can purchase equipment for receiving a digital signal in the nearest post office and do not need to go to the regional centre.
Set-top boxes are available in 500 rural post offices of the republic and 150 urban ones at the lowest possible price not more than 1000 roubles.
On March 13, at the Kazanskaya Yarmarka Exhibition Centre, the first group of 40 volunteers was trained to help Kazan citizens to connect the equipment for reception of digital television signal. During the two hour lesson, the volunteers were taught all the peculiarities of digital broadcasting.
Tatarstan schoolchildren continue to accumulate prize points in the regional IT-Champion contest held by the Ministry of Informatization and Communication of the republic together with the Ministry of Education and Science of the republic and aimed at developing digital skills of schoolchildren and improve computer literacy of the population. Schoolchildren involve parents and adults in the active use of e-services on the Portal of State Services of the republic to get the maximum number of reward points and to win a smartphone.
Tatarstan Ministry of Informatization and Communication informs the citizens of Naberezhnye Chelny that maintenance works will be carried out in the cities on March 13-14.
