Tatarstan President was reported on implementation of Innopolis project

On October 20, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a working meeting on issues of the development of Innopolis Special Economic Zone at Tatarstan Government House. Participants of the meeting discussed issues of the work with Innopolis residents, construction of housing and transport infrastructure, and development of Innopolis University.

Minister of Information and Communications of the republic Roman Shaikhutdinov, who took part in the meeting, reported that 7 companies became residents of Innopolis by results of 9 months, and it is planned to have 50 residents by the end o the year.  

The key companies are “Sberbank technologies”, “Kaspersky Laboratory”, yandex and Rosseti.

Innopolis Mayor Egor Ivanov informed that 2463 people including 300 children currently live in Innopolis.

Rustam Minnikhanov asked to focus on the housing problem and reminded about the need for rental housing.

Director of Innopolis University Kirill Semenikhin told that 600 students study at the university and their number is expected to make 900 next year. There are 13 research laboratories and 2 centers in Innopolis.

Semenikhin also told about research projects implemented by the university in liaison with leading Russian companies.
