Slovenian-Tatar business forum held in Ljubljana

On December 16, at a Slovenian-Tatar business forum at Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ljubljana it was noted that Slovenian businessmen are interested in Russian economy and are willing to develop cooperation with Russia.
Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Russian Minister of Communications and Mass Media Nikolay Nikiforov, Russia's ambassador to Slovenia Doku Zavgayev, Slovenian businessmen and members of the Tatarstan delegation took part in the forum.
Opening the event, the moderator of the forum said that Slovenian and Tatarstan Chambers of Commerce and Industry signed an agreement on cooperation, and Tatarstan businessmen have access to information about mutually beneficial relations with Slovenian businessmen.
It was noted that Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a reliable partner for businessmen.
Doku Zavgayev noted that Russia-Slovenia relations are sustainably developing, and for the first time the trade turnover made 2 billion dollars in 2013.
According to Zavgayev, small and medium-sized businesses play important role in economic development in both countries. “Good legal framework was created between our countries, and it suggests high potential of our relations,” he said.
Nikolay Nikiforov reminded participants of the meeting that a session of the Intergovernmental Slovenian-Russian Commission that will be held on December 17. “Our goal is to develop cooperation, and notwithstanding political and economic situation the trade turnover is increasing,” Nikiforov stated.
Rustam Minnikhanov thanked Slovenian colleagues for preparation of the forum, and said that in spite of current unstable political situation we should move forward and “do not shut the doors”.
Minnikhanov stressed that the republic is ready to provide all conditions for business development for anyone willing to open plants in the republic.
“I am sure that Slovenian businessmen will get necessary information from the presentation of economic potential of the republic, and find joint projects for further realization,” Minnikhanov said.
Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov and Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Akhmetov made presentation at the forum.

The Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov approved the decision of Tatarstan government to allocate 55.3 million roubles from the regional budget to support 2,300 employees of rural postal offices in 2026.
A new practice tool for preparing for the USE has been launched on the State Services Portal (Gosuslugi)l. It allows students to reinforce their knowledge and practice solving typical exam tasks.
Since September 2024, Tatarstan residents could receive rewards through the "People’s Inspector" app for reporting traffic violations. During this period, over 12,000 reports were submitted across seven paid categories, earning citizens a total of 5.6 million roubles. The top earner was a resident of the republic who submitted 226 reports and received 275,000 roubles. The second-highest earner earned 260,800 roubles for 209 reports.
