2 July 2026, Thursday

Albert Yakovlev, who served as Deputy Minister of Digitalization of the republic for nearly seven years, overseeing IT infrastructure, communications and information security, has been appointed First Deputy Minister of Digitalization of Tatarstan.

"I am grateful to the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Nurgalievich Minnikhanov, the leadership of the republic and Minister of Digitalization of Tatarstan Ilya Sergeevich Nachvin for the high level of trust placed in me. I am pleased to be part of a strong and professional team," Yakovlev said.

The appointment of Yakovlev is a significant decision for the ministry. Today, ensuring high-quality and uninterrupted communications has become a top priority: stable internet and mobile networks directly affect not only the comfort of residents but also the safety of citizens, the operation of key enterprises and the entire infrastructure of the republic. To address such challenges, the ministry needs a leader with deep expertise and extensive experience who knows the industry inside out.

Albert Yakovlev has devoted 28 years to the IT sector. He began his career as an engineer at Kazanskaya GTS. From 2001 to 2019, he held senior positions at Tattelecom and later managed a zonal communications hub in Almetyevsk. He joined the team of the Ministry of Digitalization of Tatarstan in November 2019.

For his long-standing service and contributions to the development of the industry, Albert Yakovlev has been awarded the Certificate of Honor of the President of the Russian Federation, the Letter of Gratitude of the President of the Russian Federation and the Cabinet of Ministers of Tatarstan as well as the honorary title "Honored Worker of Informatization and Communications of Tatarstan".
