Tatarstan ranks sixth in Russia for robotization density

25 June 2026, Thursday

Naberezhnye Chelny IT Park hosted alongside the annual conference "Industrial Digitalization," a meeting of Interagency Working Group No. 15.

State Duma People’s Deputy Aydar Metshin and Tatarstan Minister of Digitalization Ilya Nachvin took part in the meeting.

Participants discussed the development of industrial robotization and the main challenges faced by enterprises in transitioning to domestic solutions.

Tatarstan ranks fifth in Russia in the level of robotization and sixth in robot density. Currently, there are 50 robots per 100,000 employees in the republic. By 2030, this figure is planned to nearly triple—to 145 robots per 100,000 workers.

Leading companies in Tatarstan shared their practical experiences in digitalization:

KAMAZ: Development Director Eldar Shavaliev spoke about the use of AI technologies in manufacturing. The enterprise is implementing an intelligent automatic tracing system and the "AI Norm Control" agent, which reviews documentation.

RU-DRIVE: Co-founder Ravil Idiyatulin shared insights into creating domestic industrial solutions with complete engineering cycles.

Tatneft: AI Competence Center Head Konstantin Kuchukbaev presented their experience in implementing AI solutions and computer vision-based technologies.

Mars Technologies: Development Department Director Radik Gismyatov explained the criteria enterprises can use to select IT solutions to achieve high results.

In Tatarstan, 631 digitalization projects are underway. For example, "Setevaya Kompaniya" (Network Company) developed a "Digital Twin of Power Grids." This solution allows for predicting energy system parameters, planning maintenance and training personnel using virtual simulators. Additionally, the republic is developing its own robotics manufacturing: in Innopolis, a Center for the Development of Industrial Robotics has been established and "Aidos Robotics" is expanding its line of collaborative and industrial robots.

Interagency Working Group No. 15 focuses on issues related to digitalization and the national project "Data Economy." Its tasks include supporting companies and startups, engaging IT specialists in the republic and facilitating their participation and attraction to the region.
