Network coverage expanded in 48 villages of Tatarstan
As many as 15,000 residents of small villages in the republic have gained access to reliable communication and high-speed mobile internet. In the first half of 2026, LTE networks were deployed in 48 settlements across 27 regions of Tatarstan. When deploying a network, the operator MTS utilized, among other equipment, domestic Irteya technology.
The work was carried out under the "Bridging the Digital Divide" programme. On average, each of the connected settlements has a population of approximately 300 people. In the smallest of these, the village of Bolgar-2 in the Almetyevsk region, around 100 residents live. The largest one - the village of Isergovo in the Bavly region with over 1,000 residents.
"We actively participate in the digital inequality elimination programme and are grateful to the telecom operators supporting this initiative. It is a systematic and vital effort. We will continue this work until the end of the year, and an additional 79 small villages and settlements will gain access to voice communication and mobile internet," Deputy Minister of Digitalization of Tatarstan Albert Yakovlev stated.
The network expansion work meets the goals of the national project "Data Economy." New base stations have been installed in the agglomerations of Agryz, Aznakayevsky, Aksubaevsky, Aktanysh, Alkeevsky, Almetyevsky, Arsky, Bavlinsky, Bugulminsky, Buinsky, Vysokogorsky, Drazhzhanovsky, Yelabuzhsky, Zainsky, Kaybitsky, Leninogorsky, Mamadyshsky, Menzelinsky, Nizhnekamsky, Sabinsky, Spassky, Tukaevsky, Cheremshansky, Chistopolsky and Yutazinsky regions of the republic. The greatest number of small settlements connected to the network were in the Kukmorsky and Nurlatsky regions.
