Since September 2024, Tatarstan residents could receive rewards through the "People’s Inspector" app for reporting traffic violations. During this period, over 12,000 reports were submitted across seven paid categories, earning citizens a total of 5.6 million roubles. The top earner was a resident of the republic who submitted 226 reports and received 275,000 roubles. The second-highest earner earned 260,800 roubles for 209 reports.

In the "People’s Inspector" system, Tatarstan residents act as helpers to the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate, assisting in the timely detection of administrative violations.

“Today, the 'People’s Inspector' app is not just a way to report violations but a real tool for enhancing road safety in Tatarstan. When each of us notices and reports illegal parking or dangerous driving, we collectively protect each other from accidents, injuries and even save lives. The app has over 199,000 unique users, ranging from the youngest at 17 to the most experienced at 67,” Tatarstan Minister of Digitalization Ilya Nachvin said.

Users can receive 25% of the fines' amounts, and the system automatically determines the location to expedite the processing of reports.

Since the beginning of 2026, more than 41,600 reports across all categories have been submitted through the "People’s Inspector" system. Tatarstan residents actively report violations that are not eligible for rewards as well.

The most frequently reported violations include:

Parking on sidewalks – 22,800 reports

Parking at stops with a prohibiting sign – 5,400 reports

Parking in handicapped spots – 1,700 reports

The State Information System "People’s Inspector" was launched in Tatarstan in 2014 for recording traffic violations and public order disturbances via video. An updated version of the app was released in September 2024, enabling users to earn rewards for reports in seven categories:

Running a red light

Driving in the wrong lane

Crossing the stop line

Using a mobile phone while driving

Not wearing a seatbelt

Crossing a pedestrian crossing without yielding

Littering
