Hero of Russia, cosmonaut Andrey Borisenko, thousands of rockets, space technologies and scientist lectures: "Sputnik of Knowledge" Festival to take place in Kazan

7 April 2026, Tuesday

On April 11, in celebration of Cosmonauts’ Day, the Bashir Rameev IT Park will host the family festival "Sputnik of Knowledge". We invite all children and their parents to a true space adventure!
Registration is open via the link.

"Sputnik of Knowledge" is a place where space becomes closer than ever before. The festival gives children a unique opportunity to showcase their talents. Everyone can find an exciting activity. The programme includes three engaging tracks for children, adults and families.

What to expect:

Speech by Hero of the Russian Federation, cosmonaut Andrey Borisenko. He has spent 337 days, 8 hours and 57 minutes in two space missions.

Interactive games — a unique format where children can try roles as engineers, crew members or even Jedi:

"Spacecraft." Kids become builders of interplanetary devices, choosing modules to successfully complete a mission.

"Cosmonaut Training Center." An exciting challenge that simulates the real selection process for cosmonauts. Participants will go through seven stations, testing agility, intelligence and stress resilience.

VR game "Beat Saber." Players wield two light sabers with VR controllers, slicing flying blocks to the rhythm.

Educational Lectures:

"Space in Films." A discussion with Kazan Federal University scientists Dmitry Groshov and Sergey Sushkov about the realism of space scenes in movies.

"CanSat: A Key to the Sky." Teams will participate in an engineering space project, competing to create and launch "satellites."

"Perelmanias and Perelmagia." Physicist and project creator Svetlana Tishina will inform about the laws of the universe and turn them into an exciting show.

Some lectures are adapted for a broad audience and will be interesting for children of all ages. They will learn about scientific discoveries related to space travel that we use daily and how to become a real cosmonaut.

Workshops:

"Space Ships." Young talents will assemble their own wooden model of a spacecraft.

"Optical Illusions." Kids will create optical toys featuring rockets and astronauts that come alive during rotation.

"Solar Panel Orientation." A workshop from the "Quantum" Center of Youth Engineering and Scientific Competencies, where children will assemble their own satellite model.

"Space Gardens." Young researchers will learn how to grow "space seedlings" and can take one home.

Family Activities:

"Rocket Construction Contest." Families will build a spacecraft tasked with completing a secret mission within limited time.

"Puzzle Planet." Author of over 100 puzzles and developing games, Vladimir Krasonukov will host competitions where families solve logical tasks together.

"Space Quiz." An exciting challenge where answers are not merely recalled but "calculated" through experiments.

"Create your first animation: My First Flight." Families will learn animation secrets and bring their own story to life frame by frame.

In addition to workshops and competitions, guests will enjoy special activities marking Cosmonauts' Day: a space scientific play, the exhibition "Gagarin. The First in Space," university career guidance stands, an art contest "Children’s Drawings" exhibition, and a zone where anyone can leave wishes for active astronauts aboard the ISS.
