ICL Services has developed the "Smart Cafeteria" hardware and software system for organizing self-service areas in school cafeterias in Tatarstan.
It works simply: a student places a tray of food on a special kiosk, the video analytics system automatically recognizes all the dishes, a list of recognized dishes appears on the screen, the student swipes their card to pay—and the entire process takes only 5-15 seconds.
The system, developed in collaboration with the educational platform "Obr.Karta," utilizes modern video analytics technologies that have already proven their efficiency in industrial scenarios.
For example, a "smart" self-service checkout control system was developed for the Auchan chain. These self-service checkouts are becoming increasingly popular as they speed up the purchasing process and reduce queues without the need for additional staff, but they can be a source of losses. ICL Services' solution uses a neural network to analyze camera data and automatically alerts customers to potential scanning errors, notifies the checkout assistant when assistance is needed or alerts security if suspicious activity is detected.
ICL Services' solutions demonstrate how our AI technologies successfully solve practical problems in education. The smart system is expected to be implemented in some Kazan schools starting next school year.
