Special attention was paid to ensuring communications on key transport routes in 2025. Fourteen new base stations were installed along the M-7 highway, and another 40 facilities appeared on the M-12 highway. This expanded coverage over long sections of roads and reduced the number of areas with unstable connections.
“Mobile and Internet access is the region’s basic digital maturity indicator. We are consistently developing infrastructure for residents to use mobile services and communication regardless of where their location or move. Over the past three years, about 200 base stations have been installed along routes M-7 and M-12. Communication there is important not only for navigation and the internet, but also for emergency situations,” Deputy Minister of Digitalization Albert Yakovlev said.
In 2025, 910 calls were received to the GLONASS 112 system from the M-7 and M-12 highways, most of which were related to traffic accidents. This data demonstrates the importance of stable communication along the entire highway.
