On November 14, 2025, Kazan hosted the 9th Council of Public Organizations and Associations of Tatarstan on Combating Corruption. Tatarstan Ministry of Digitalization is a co-organizer of the event, and Head of the Department of Digital Development of Public Administration Yulia Zareeva was among the invited experts. The Council brought together representatives of government agencies, public associations, the scientific and educational communities and experts in the area of anti-corruption policy. This is an open dialogue between society and government on anti-corruption issues. The main goal of the Council is to discuss current challenges, exchange best practices and formulate concrete proposals for further improvement of anti-corruption policy at various levels. The discussion addressed many key issues, including:
• Corruption as a threat to the economic and social security of Russia and Tatarstan;
• Efficient anti-corruption control measures in government bodies, companies, and society;
• Increasing transparency and improving legislation aimed at preventing corruption;
• Developing mechanisms for public and parliamentary oversight;
• Implementing educational and awareness-raising programs that foster anti-corruption awareness and culture; • Implementing state anti-corruption policy in the agro-industrial complex;
• Protecting the rights of citizens and society from corruption threats;
• Countering lobbying and improving criminal law;
• Improving the efficiency of reviewing citizens' complaints on anti-corruption issues.
As a result, a number of recommendations and initiatives were developed aimed at strengthening preventive measures, supporting civic oversight, developing anti-corruption education and promoting transparency in all processes. The annual Council meeting highlights the importance of uniting the efforts of the state, business and society in fighting corruption and creating an open, efficient and honest system of public administration. The collective work of the Council participants shapes the sustainable development strategy for the region and Russia as a whole, where every citizen is protected from corruption and the rights and interests of society and the state come first.
