On November 18, a team of Tatarstan Ministry of Digitalization headed by its Minister Ilya Nachvin and Deputy Minister Albert Yakovlev together with the Director of the regional branch of Russian Post Ilnur Makhmutov looked around the Russian Post Logistics Center (LPC) in Kazan.
Makhmutov informed about the center's infrastructure and discussed the technological capabilities and achievements of not only the LPC but also the entire Tatarstan postal network.
The LPC in Kazan is a modern federal-level sorting hub. The center's equipment allows it to process over 1 million mail items daily, including over 150,000 parcels and international small packages.
The automated mail sorting center serves 3,500 post offices, covering not only Tatarstan but also neighboring regions—Mari El, Chuvashia, Udmurtia and the Samara and Ulyanovsk regions.
The center was built in 2016 and began processing domestic mail in 2017. Since 2018 this center in partnership with the Federal Customs Service of Russia has been used as an international mail exchange point, where nearly 100% of international parcels are accepted. The LPC has specialized departments for sorting marketplace parcels, as well as unique solutions for automatically sending mail, such as traffic fines: a special machine prints and packages two letters in one second.
At the end of the meeting, Nachvin emphasized the importance of the center and its staff for the development of the region and awarded outstanding LPC employees for their high professional achievements and contributions to the development of postal infrastructure.
