The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs records fake calls made on behalf of city administration employees

Pensioners receive calls from people claiming to be city hall employees, informing them of the "due payment to labor veterans," the presentation of a certificate and other awards, but to receive them, they should register in their personal account and provide personal information.

What is important to know:

Administration employees do not call citizens with payment offers or request personal information, SNILS, card numbers or codes sent via SMS.

No "personal accounts" for receiving social benefits are created by phone—all registration is done through the official Gosuslugi portal or by visiting a Multifunctional Center (MFC) or social security office in person.

If you receive such a call about "new payments," end the conversation. No official operator or government agency will request personal information over the phone.
