IT staff in Tatarstan: round table with RBC and digital experts held

On July 23, a roundtable discussion between Tatarstan Ministry of Digitalization and RBC Tatarstan on the topic “Going into IT: where to find qualified specialists for the industry” took place. The experts met to discuss pressing issues of staff shortages in the rapidly developing IT sector of Tatarstan.

Deputy Minister of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communications of Tatarstan Bulat Gabdrakhmanov, Director of Operational Business Management of Innostage Company Kirill Semenikhin, Director of the Kazan Campus of School 21 Yulia Vershinina, Director of Development and HR Policy at Innopolis University Radik Valiev and Director of the Institute of Information Technology and Intelligent Systems of the Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University Mikhail Abramsky took part in the round table.

The meeting discussed the following key points:

1. The current situation with the shortage of IT specialists;

2. Efficient programs for training professionals;

3. Opportunities for retraining specialists in related areas;

4. Corporate training program practices and support measures from the state and private companies.

“The high growth rate of the industry ensures the creation of new jobs and increases the attractiveness of the IT sector for young specialists. The regional projects “Code of the Future: Artificial Intelligence”, “Digital Lesson”, the Olympiad “IT-Planet”, the championship “Professionals”, the tournament “GO CTF” are another step towards early career guidance and motivation of young people. They are held with the support of the national project “Data Economy” and motivate young people to choose an IT trajectory,” Bulat Gabdrakhmanov said at the meeting.

The results of the round table emphasize the need to increase the production of qualified IT specialists in order to meet the needs of growing companies in Tatarstan.
