MTS, the digital ecosystem, reports on the introduction of a free feature to search for personal data leaks from credit institutions, online stores and other sources in the « Zashchitnik» («Defender») service. In case of a data leak, MTS subscribers will be able to know about it and also receive data protection recommendations. According to MTS, over the past six months, 83 million users of Internet services have had their personal data leaked at least once, and almost 20 million have had it leaked twice. Compromised data may include passwords, passport data and other confidential information. Fraudsters can use it to apply for a loan or steal money.
