Research: Tatarstan enters the top 4 regions in the number of open vacancies for IT specialists

The Technocracy company and hh.ru analyzed data on the supply and demand market in the labor market for 2023 and the beginning of 2024.

According to the study, the number of open positions for IT specialists increased by 20 percent in 2023.

Key findings of the study:

• The number of open vacancies increased by 20 per cent in 2023: in 2022, more than 555,000 positions were opened for IT specialists on hh.ru.  In 2023, this figure exceeded 634,000 vacancies.

• In percentage terms, the demand for systems analysts has increased the most: when comparing February 2023 and February 2024, the number of open vacancies for systems analysts increased by 117 per cent.

• The most demanded are Java developers.

On average, companies open more than 1.5 thousand vacancies for them, and are mainly looking for specialists with experience from 3 to 6 years.

The top three most popular development stacks also included PHP and Python.

• The most active employers were representatives of the Information Technology sector - on average, IT companies opened more than 10,000 vacancies every month.

At the same time, the top 3 companies by the number of open vacancies included Sber, Tinkoff and Innotech.

• The most open areas of work for “entry into IT”: project management, Flutter development and Android development.
