On August 24, at the expanded meeting devoted to the quality of communication in Tatarstan and the events of the Year of Digitalization, Tatarstan Minister of Digitalization Ayrat Khayrullin summed up the results of the first half of 2022.

Today, as many as 81 percent of households have a broadband Internet connection in Tatarstan. There are 1.13 million wired Internet subscribers in the republic. The growth makes 3.7 per cent compared to last year.
This year, 131 settlements will be wired for GPON networks, including 82 of them have already been connected.
There are 7.8 million valid SIM cards in Tatarstan. Growth made 4 per cent during the year. This is twice more than the population of Tatarstan. The number of mobile Internet subscribers increased by 6 per cent to 4.5 million. The growth of mobile Internet traffic consumption increased by 19 percent.
In the first half of the year, mobile subscribers downloaded and transmitted 481,000 TB of Internet traffic, which is 6.5 billion videos, or 1,650 videos per one resident of Tatarstan. Almost 17,000 4G base stations are operating in Tatarstan, more than in any other region of the Volga Federal District. At the same time, the number of complaints from the population about the quality of communication services decreased twice.
One of the most painful points for both telecom operators and users is the quality of communication on the roads.
