The procedure for obtaining a residence permit for foreign IT professionals and their families can be simplified

According to the Presidential Decree of March 2, 2022, Russian Government needs to simplify the process of employment and obtaining a residence permit for foreign IT specialists working in Russian companies.

At the Government session, the draft law on simplification of procedures for employment of foreign IT specialists and obtaining a residence permit was supported with consideration of the need to add family members of IT specialists. It is possible to obtain a residence permit without a temporary residence permit.

Foreigners should be employed in an accredited IT company (need to conclude an employment contract or civil contract

Foreign IT specialists have the right to work in accredited IT companies without a work permit and a patent.
