Voting for the advent of 4G in small settlements, which will be the first to connect to the Internet next year, has ended.
Over 630,000 people voted on the State Services Portal, and another 13,000 votes were received by Russian Ministry of Digital Development through the post office. The highest number of people voted for settlements in Tatarstan, Krasnodar Territory, Chechnya, Yakutia, Buryatia, Komi, Kemerovo and Chelyabinsk regions.
At the end of December, the State Services Portal will publish a list of locations that will be the first to be connected to the Internet in 2022 under the universal telecommunications service programme. By 2030, mobile communications will be available in more than 24,000 small settlements in the country.
