MTS and Ericsson Companies overclock the 5G network to 3.5 Gbps in Innopolis

MTS and Ericsson Companies deployed a pilot 5G network in Tatarstan at the Innopolis Special Economic. At the launch ceremony, the Motorola edge flagship smartphone showed downloading speeds over 3.5 Gbps.

The 5G MTS network is deployed in the 28 GHz range using Ericsson Radio System equipment and will operate on a permanent basis at the Technopark named after Popov. The pilot zone is primarily designed to test Smart City solutions that will improve security in Tatarstan, optimize the region’s transport system, and efficiently manage city services.

Access to 5G infrastructure will help Kazan scientists and developers create and test innovative solutions.
