Winners of regional round of the contest Imagine Cup 2013 chosen

Regional round of a major international student Microsoft contest “Imagine Cup 2013” was held in Kazan on March 25. 10 university and school teams from Tatarstan, Ulyanovsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Izhevsk, Volgograd and Samara participated in the contest.
Students presented their innovative projects to members of the panel. Sun Flowers team from Volgograd technical university presented the project of energy efficient heat management system and was ranked first.
The second place was given to Sly Lamb from Nizhny Novgorod and their Space Kitty game for Windows 8.
Both teams will go to Moscow and take part in Russian final round of the contest in April.
The project Voxel Sculptor presented by 3hard (Kazan Federal University) was ranked third. Students presented simplified way of modeling 3D objects using Kinnect sensor.
Students at Gymnasium No. 75 in Kazan took part in an educational session under the "Digital Literacy" project, focusing on topics such as "Pet Protection in the Digital World" and "Harmful tips on Digital Security", which is implemented in support of the national project “Data Economy”.
Tatarstan residents have increased their phone communication by one-third. According to MegaFon, in March 2025, the average person talked on the phone for 4 hours and 49 minutes per month. This year, the average call time has risen to 6 hours and 20 minutes.
