Windows 8 in Tatar language

Microsoft presented the package of latest operating system Windows 8 in Tatar language today at Kazan IT-park. Millions of users throughout the world will get access to new opportunities of the operating system and hundreds of pads and computers operating in their native language. It is a free application available for users of licensed versions of Microsoft Windows 8.
President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Minister of Information and Communication Roman Shaikhutdinov, Microsoft Vice-President for Eastern and Central Europe Don Grantham, Microsoft President in Russia Nikolay Pryanishnikov, Regional Director of Microsoft in Russia Kirill Semenikhin participated in the event.
In 2006 Tatarstan was the first region in Russia to localize Microsoft Windows XP in national language.
Localisation of Microsoft software products in Tatar language favours creation of multilingual information society in republic, improvement of computer competence and development of information technologies.

On December 11, Moscow hosted this year's important IT events: the awards ceremony for the winners of the "Sprint to the Future - Code of Success!" award and the Sprint 2.0 Accelerator Demo Day.
In accordance with the Procedure for providing subsidies from the budget of Tatarstan in 2025 to telecom operators to reimburse costs associated with providing mobile radiotelephone services on sections of the M-12 and M-7 highways located in Tatarstan, approved by Resolution No. 1032 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Tatarstan dated 02.12.2025 (hereinafter referred to as the Procedure) and Order No. p/334 of Tatarstan Ministry of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communications dated 10.12.2025, the deadlines for submitting applications for subsidies from the budget of the republic have been established.
Digital Transformation Centre of Tatarstan reported that in 2025, Tatarstan completed a digital infrastructure upgrade, which affected server capacity, government employee workplaces, email services and video surveillance.
