Russian Minister of communications Nikolai Nikiforov visited the Kazan IT-park. He was accompanied by the Vice-premier and Minister of informatization and communications Roman Shaikhutdinov.
The federal Minister arrived in Kazan to estimate readiness of IT systems for Universiade 2013.
The video surveillance system developed for Universiade objects was presented to Nikolai Nikiforov at the regional center of space services GLONASS+112. 1200 cameras have now been installed at the objects. 7000 cameras will be set up by March 2013.
One of unique functions of the video surveillance system is the capability to recognize things left at the objects (bags, rucksacks, boxes) and inform security service about it.
Nikolai Nikiforov also saw the digital radio communication system TETRA. All services of summer student games will be equipped with the system. In general, 3000 stations will be used.
New terminal for accreditation at the Games was also demonstrated to the Minister of communications. The system of accreditation and ticket sale is being adopted in Kazan. Nikolai Nikiforov personally tested the system and became the first official person accredited for Universiade 2013.
Having checked all systems, Nikolai Nikiforov said that he was satisfied with fulfilled work. However, much work is to be done to adopt all systems and provide continuous operation.
