Founder of "smart cities" William Hutchison called Kazan IT-park a "grand building"

President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov has met with Executive Director of Ernst & Young Center for Smart Cities Innovation William Hutchison. The meeting was held at the RT Government House with participation of Deputy PM and Minister of informatization and communications Roman Shaikhutdinov.
Participants of the meeting discussed global trends in the sphere of creation of innovative cities, creation, promotion and development of innovative satellite city “Innopolis” in Kazan.
Rustam Minnikhanov noted that practical experience of William Hutchison and other specialists of Ernst & Young company in similar international projects, namely WaterfrontToronto (Canada), Cyberport (Singapore), Multimedia Super Corodor (Malaysia), i-CANADA Alliance (Canada), Skolkovo (Russia) is very interesting and can be used upon creation of Innopolis.
William Hutchison has visited the High Technology Technopark “IT-park”. Roman Shaikhutdinov told about activity of the technopark.
It is expected that the guest will visit museum reserve “the Kazan Kremlin” and the ski sports complex “Kazan”.

William Hutchison is an international business and social entrepreneur and advisor on strategic technology and economic development. He is Executive Director of the Ernst & Young Center for Smart City Innovation in Moscow, Chairman of the i-CANADA Alliance, Board Chair of SAVI, a multi university Internet and cloud computing research program led by the University of Toronto, and a member of the Skolkovo Smart City Expert Advisory Board in Moscow.

The Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov approved the decision of Tatarstan government to allocate 55.3 million roubles from the regional budget to support 2,300 employees of rural postal offices in 2026.
A new practice tool for preparing for the USE has been launched on the State Services Portal (Gosuslugi)l. It allows students to reinforce their knowledge and practice solving typical exam tasks.
Since September 2024, Tatarstan residents could receive rewards through the "People’s Inspector" app for reporting traffic violations. During this period, over 12,000 reports were submitted across seven paid categories, earning citizens a total of 5.6 million roubles. The top earner was a resident of the republic who submitted 226 reports and received 275,000 roubles. The second-highest earner earned 260,800 roubles for 209 reports.
