According to the Presidential Decree of March 2, 2022, Russian Government needs to simplify the process of employment and obtaining a residence permit for foreign IT specialists working in Russian companies.
Since January 1, 2021, the regional programme to support IT companies «KITyk» is operating in Tatarstan. It provides reduced rates for the simplified tax system up to one percent under the item «Income» and up to 5 percent under the item «Income minus expenditure». As many as 78 Tatarstan companies received benefits under this programme last year.
At a government meeting, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced the decision to support the domestic IT industry and informed about the new measures, namely tax preferences, grants and soft mortgages.
As many as 2,361 residents of the republic have already tested a new digital platform for providing social support measures “Zabota”.
