By the end of 2011 hanging communication lines in big cities of Tatarstan Republic should be changed to underground

By the end of 2011 big cities of Tatarstan Republic should be relieved from unauthorized hanging communication lines. In accordance with RT Government Edict more than 1,8 thousand km of cables in Kazan, Zelenodolsk, Chistopol, Elabuga, Nizhnekamsk, Naberezhnye Chelny, Almetievsk, Leninogorsk and Bugulma should be changed to underground lines.
Such information was given by Deputy Premier - Minister of info and communications Nikolai Nikiforov at a briefing in RT Cabinet. By his words, currently there are 2253 km of hanging communication lines in 20 Tatarstan cities. Work on laying underground communication lines is now being started. 117 km have already been changed for 6 months of 2011.
To activate work in this field a working group led by Deputy Premier - Head of RT Cabinet Staff Shamil Gafarov was created. It is comprised of chiefs of municipal formations and representatives of supervision bodies.
RT Ministry of info and communications also created a working group on organizing transfer of hanging communication lines and overhead-underground junctions into underground communications. The group is comprised of technical directors of “Tattelekom”, TRK “TVT”, “Teleset”, “ER-telekom”, “Vympelkom”.

Since September 2024, Tatarstan residents could receive rewards through the "People’s Inspector" app for reporting traffic violations. During this period, over 12,000 reports were submitted across seven paid categories, earning citizens a total of 5.6 million roubles. The top earner was a resident of the republic who submitted 226 reports and received 275,000 roubles. The second-highest earner earned 260,800 roubles for 209 reports.
