AI assistant helps TGC-16 procurement team drastically reduce application processing time
TGC-16, one of Russia's largest power generating companies has deployed an MTS AI assistant in its procurement operations. The solution helps the company's procurement department rapidly analyze commercial offers from potential contractors and suppliers, assess their compliance with the customer's request and verify price justification. As a result, offer analysis accuracy stands at no less than 95%, while application processing time has been reduced several times over.
To automate the most labor-intensive procurement operations of TGC-16, MTS developed two interconnected AI tools. The first, the "Price Analysis" module automatically matches items from the technical specification with goods in suppliers' commercial offers, calculates average market and target prices and verifies the justification of the initial maximum contract price. The second, "Technical Analysis" takes on the task of verifying the compliance of received proposals from procurement participants with the original request: the system compares technical specifications of goods, delivery timelines, quantities and units of measurement, based on the procurement notice.
Prior to the implementation of these digital tools, analysis of suppliers' commercial offers was an entirely manual task. The situation was further complicated by the fact that documents arrived in various formats — Excel, PDF or Word — requiring additional effort for analysis. The process was extremely labor-intensive, creating delays in procurement and despite the meticulous work of procurement specialists, there remained a risk of errors.
"Today, more than 70% of large Russian companies use artificial intelligence technologies. AI assistants are actively helping businesses optimize costs and free up employee time. Artificial intelligence takes over information processing, revenue forecasting, report generation and much more. It is important that telecom operators are already actively creating such assistants and integrating them into their operations. Under the regional AI development programme, we are transferring this experience to key sectors of Tatarstan. The AI service 'GosPrompt' will operate in every sector, tailored to its specific needs. In education, digital assistants will create lesson scenarios and check homework; in the construction sector, they will analyze estimate documentation; and in agriculture, they will forecast crop yields," Deputy Minister of Digitalization of Tatarstan Klontsak said.
The MTS solutions are based on fine-tuned large language models adapted to the specifics of procurement activities. They are deployed on the Russian platform MWS GPT, developed by MTS's subsidiary MTS Web Services and operate in MTS data centers located on Russian territory.
