"Made in Tatarstan" exhibition demonstrates the region's digital potential to ASEAN delegations
Since June 15, the Center of Unique Craftsmanship (CUC) in Kazan has been hosting an exposition titled "Made in Tatarstan," showcasing the republic's achievements, including in the information technology.
The exhibition's IT zone features contributions from 15 Tatarstan-based tech companies. During the first three days, the event was attended by high-ranking representatives of the ASEAN summit countries and members of foreign delegations. Among the visitors were Timor-Leste Prime Minister Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão, Vietnam Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and his delegation, Myanmar's presidential special representative Hau Khan Sum and Malaysia’s delegation led by Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Johari Abdul Ghani.
“I was very impressed by the extent and diversity Tatarstan is represented in terms of technology and manufacturing. It is truly captivating. I find it remarkable that solutions are available for agriculture, automotive manufacturing, and, of course, artificial intelligence and other IT areas. We will strongly recommend Malaysian businessmen to visit this exhibition and see what aspects of Tatarstan’s experience could be adapted in our country,” the Malaysian Minister said after looking around the exposition.
Moreover, several Tatarstan-based solutions are already actively used in Malaysia. RTsim — a platform for digital twins and operator simulators for water treatment plants, oil and gas, energy, and industrial infrastructure — is currently implemented in Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. The company’s immediate plans include hosting an industry webinar in Malaysia, featuring the Malaysian BIM Association, state-owned company PAAB, oil & gas corporation PETRONAS and leading industry experts.
Tatarstan’s IT companies have maintained active cooperation with ASEAN countries for several years. GoodPayments — a payment infrastructure enabling merchants to accept cryptocurrency payments with automatic conversion to fiat currency through a payment agent — is already operational in Thailand. The company intends to expand this solution to other ASEAN member states to boost payment activity and diversify payment methods.
Mars Technologies is successfully working in Vietnam, where it has implemented a project to deploy a secured communication network with professional radio communication systems and automation of technological processes at airports. Additionally, negotiations are underway with the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security to introduce a comprehensive Early detection system for seismic activity and tsunami with an integrated public alert system.
Other participants in the exhibition include companies such as ICL, CIT RT with the Gosprompt platform, Metrica B, Applied Robotics, BertTech, Corporate Innovation Hub, GeoPager, SIGNAL, InViAn, and CitySoft — each demonstrating how Tatarstan’s technologies are finding applications in international markets.
