Computer championship "Khikmet" — "Connection between generations" starts in Kazan
On June 9, at the Bashir Rameev IT Park, grandparents and their grandchildren are competing for victory in the regional Championship "Khikmet" — "Buynnar beleneshe" ("Connection of Generations"). The final features 180 participants from 45 regions of Tatarstan who advanced through municipal qualifying rounds.
Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan Leyla Fazleeva, Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the republic Elmira Zaripova and Chairperson of the regional branch of the Union of Pensioners of Russia in Tatarstan Lyubov Mishina spoke at the opening of the tournament.
"I would like to address especially the youngest and most knowledgeable participants of the tournament. We always need and value your help in mastering advanced technologies. Remember that there are adults next to you who always need you," Fazleeva said.
The tournament participants include men aged 60 and over, women aged 55 and over and schoolchildren under 14. The youngest participant is nine years old, while the wisest and most experienced is 84. They are proving that learning something new is possible at any age.
"You are all keeping pace with the times, and I thank you! Special thanks for the activity of participants of the Special Military Operation. And know this: the winner will go to Ryazan to represent the republic at the All-Russian Computer Multidiscipline Championship," Zaripova said.
"Today in this hall are the smartest, wisest, bravest and most responsible representatives of the older generation of our republic, as well as the most tech-savvy grandchildren. With each passing year, our championship gains momentum: this year, 780 people took part in the first stage," Mishina explained.
Participants will undergo skills tests necessary in real life. Winners will be determined in three main categories:
— "Yandex. Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia." Participants complete tasks involving artificial intelligence.
— "Working on a Smartphone. Year of Military and Labor Glory." Families will demonstrate how they use the Max messenger.
— "Information and Financial Security." Participants complete tasks related to paying for public services and data protection.
Special categories have also been established: "Oldest Male Participant," "Oldest Female Participant," "Youngest Male Participant," "Youngest Female Participant" and "Defender of the Fatherland" (for combat veterans, including participants of the Special Military Operation).
The organizers of the championship are the regional branch of the Union of Pensioners of Russia in Tatarstan, the Branch of the Social Fund of Russia for the republic, the Ministry of Digital Development of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Labor of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Education and Science of the republic as well as the Council of Municipal Formations of Tatarstan and the IT Park.
