School No. 86 in Kazan hosted a lesson of the All-Russian educational project "Digital Literacy", which was focused on phone fraud and held with the support of the national project "Data Economy".

"Digital Literacy" is a programme for children and adults aimed at enhancing digital literacy skills and promote safe online behavior, which is organized by Russian Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and the Autonomous Non-profit Organization "Digital Economy". The project includes a series of animated videos and teaching materials for educators.

"Since the beginning of the year, 57 such lessons have already been held in Tatarstan schools. We see a great response from students – the classes are always engaging, and the children actively participate in discussions. The school year is coming to an end, and we can confidently say that we have done a lot of work throughout the year, and these lessons help children feel more confident in the digital environment," Deputy Minister of Digitalization of Tatarstan Bulat Gabdrakhmanov said.

Press Secretary of the Tatarstan branch of Rostelecom Tatyana Alekseeva held a lesson for sixth-graders. Together with the main characters – Rostik the catfish and Sonya the salmon – the children were transported to the underwater city of Riftelekom and found themselves in a real-life detective story.

In the storyline, the schoolchildren learned how to recognize a fraudster during an ordinary phone call that appears to come from a close relative. They learned how to properly respond to urgent requests and pleas for help, what details to pay attention to during the conversation, and what protective tools to install on their smartphones.
