In April 2026, Yandex’s delivery robots will begin operating in the Novo-Savinovsky and Soviet districts of Kazan. They will deliver orders from “Yandex.Lavka,” with additional services such as “Food” and “Delivery” planned to be added later.
Robotic delivery is aimed at integrating modern technologies into residents’ daily lives and make them more convenient. Citizens will be able to track the robot’s movement in real time on a map within the app. As robots do not require rest, they can provide reliable service around the clock.
Currently, the company is preparing for the deployment of delivery robots. In two districts of Kazan, cartography robots are already patrolling. These look similar to delivery robots, but their primary task is to create detailed maps of the area. Once completed, the robots will confidently navigate the city in any weather conditions.
Kazan will host fourth-generation delivery robots — the latest series introduced by Yandex. These are the first robots produced in series by the company. Compared to previous versions, these robots have better off-road capability. They are also simpler to manufacture, making them more cost-effective. By the end of 2027, Yandex plans to deploy 20,000 fourth-generation robots.
Mass production will enable faster expansion into new cities and reduce the cost of robot delivery. Currently, it costs about the same as courier delivery, and prices are expected to decrease further as robot deployment spreads.
Robot delivery services are already available in the Vakhitovsky district of Kazan, Innopolis, Moscow, Saint Petersburg and Murino (Leningrad Region). Robots have traveled over 2 million kilometers and completed more than 1 million orders in these cities.
