Russian citizens started applying for mobile number portability

On December 1 in accordance with the law “On introducing alterations in Federal Law “About communication” and article 333 of the Tax Code of Russian Federation the mobile number portability (MNP) service was launched on December 1.
According to the data of Central research institute of communication, 200 requests for mobile number portability have been already submitted. Operators have fixed terms of mobile number portability for their subscribers. The strict terms for all operators will be introduced from April 15, 2014. The MNP service is used in 65 countries around the world.
Russia has now started using this international standard. It is expected that such measures will help to improve communication quality and develop mobile networks. According to different sociological studies, 15-25 per cent of subscribers are willing to change operators. From December 1, 2013, any subscriber can come to other operator with passport and fill in an application form. When the contract is signed and all debts are paid, the subscriber gets a SIM card with a temporary number that will be changed for one to be used after all operational procedures.
After April 15, 2014 terms of mobile number portability will make 8 days.

About 2,000 students of the Institute of Information Technology and Intelligent Systems (IITS) at Kazan Federal University (KFU) received scholarships for studies in “Software Engineering” with a focus on “Modern Software Development.” Annually, more than 22.6 million roubles are allocated from the regional budget for this purpose under the “Personnel for the Digital Economy” regional project.
To date, Yandex delivery robots began operating in the Novo-Savinovsky and Sovetsky districts of Kazan. On December 2025, robot delivery was firstly introduced in the Vakhitovsky district of the city.
The implementation of robot delivery is aimed at making everyday life more comfortable for residents through the use of advanced technology. Users will be able to track the movement of the courier robot on a map directly within the app, ensuring transparency and convenience. Since robots do not require breaks or rest periods, delivery services will operate reliably around the clock.
Mobile Telecommunication Systems Company reported on its activities in Tatarstan for the year 2025 during a weekly meeting at Tatarstan Ministry of Digitalization.
Director of the MTS branch in Tatarstan Marat Kabanov outlined key areas of work in 2025 and the achieved results.
On March 27, Tatarstan Minister of Digitalization Ilya Nachvyn held a meeting with Director General of "Info-Obereg" Vladimir Dorofeev.
Such meetings between the minister and representatives of the IT community are held on Fridays in an open dialogue format. These personal meetings provide an opportunity for companies to share their experiences, discuss their projects and seek support.
