On October 9, the Deputy Minister of Digitalization of Tatarstan Bulat Gabdrakhmanov held a lesson at Polytechnic Lyceum No. 182, where he spoke to students about current digital security issues, the Ministry's areas of focus and how the region is developing a modern digital infrastructure. Particular attention was paid to supporting young talent and innovative IT projects. The lesson's main topic was: deepfakes—digital counterfeits that affect each of us in the information age.
The students learned how to distinguish fakes from the real thing: what to look for in facial expressions, eye movements and image and sound quality. Bulat Fanilovich explained why the skills of critically assessing information and media literacy are becoming vital.
The lesson was held in the interactive format: students actively asked questions about the future of the IT industry, the Unified State Exam in computer science and new challenges in the digital space. They shared their experiences with deepfakes and learned how to protect their data. The "Digital Education" lessons are part of the national "Data Economy" project to foster a culture of cybersecurity and a savvy attitude toward technology among the younger generation of Tatarstan!
