Roman Shaikhutdinov takes part in Forum Russia ICT Day in Washington

On November 14 Russian Minister of Communication and Mass Media Nikolay Nikiforov, his deputies Mark Shmulevich, Aleksey Kozyrev and Tatarstan Minister of Information and Communication Roman Shaikhutdinov took part in Forum Russia ICT Day in Washington.
During the forum Roman Shaikhutdinov told about infrastructure of electronic government. He told that Tatarstan is the first region in Russia, CIS and Eastern Europe by adopting LTE standard, Russia is the first country in the world to launch commercial network LTE-Advanced.
Moreover, according to the United Nations Organization rating, in 2012 Russia went from 59th to 27th place by the index of electronic government development. Other factors that reflect the state of ICT infrastructure in Russia are: 3G is available in all big Tatarstan settlements (90 per cent coverage), the country takes 4th place in the world by the number of LTE users, 5th place by the number of broadband Internet users, and 7th place in the world by the number of purchased personal computers.
Roman Shaikhutdinov also told about state electronic services, information systems “Electronic education in Tatarstan”, “Electronic health care”, the emergency services coordination system GLONASS+112, and “Open Tatarstan”.

About 2,000 students of the Institute of Information Technology and Intelligent Systems (IITS) at Kazan Federal University (KFU) received scholarships for studies in “Software Engineering” with a focus on “Modern Software Development.” Annually, more than 22.6 million roubles are allocated from the regional budget for this purpose under the “Personnel for the Digital Economy” regional project.
To date, Yandex delivery robots began operating in the Novo-Savinovsky and Sovetsky districts of Kazan. On December 2025, robot delivery was firstly introduced in the Vakhitovsky district of the city.
The implementation of robot delivery is aimed at making everyday life more comfortable for residents through the use of advanced technology. Users will be able to track the movement of the courier robot on a map directly within the app, ensuring transparency and convenience. Since robots do not require breaks or rest periods, delivery services will operate reliably around the clock.
Mobile Telecommunication Systems Company reported on its activities in Tatarstan for the year 2025 during a weekly meeting at Tatarstan Ministry of Digitalization.
Director of the MTS branch in Tatarstan Marat Kabanov outlined key areas of work in 2025 and the achieved results.
On March 27, Tatarstan Minister of Digitalization Ilya Nachvyn held a meeting with Director General of "Info-Obereg" Vladimir Dorofeev.
Such meetings between the minister and representatives of the IT community are held on Fridays in an open dialogue format. These personal meetings provide an opportunity for companies to share their experiences, discuss their projects and seek support.
